Albany,n.y. Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Unless the team was hiding a season ending injury, I have no idea why he hasn't been cut yet. They benched him and didn't activate him after the bye- based on those actions and the three free agent signings, he's as good as gone. Why the delay in releasing him-it's just like the Bennie Anderson situation last off-season. Dump him now.
scribo Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Maybe they are holding onto him in case someone is interested in putting him in a trade package. Really, I have no idea.

BillsCelticsAngelsBama Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 They're waiting to sneak him out the door on draft day when nobody's looking. Look, they saw something in him that us minions didn't, we need to trust Marv, maybe we signed these other linemen to motivate Reyes, if you question acquisitions, you are a blithering idiot... choose anyone of these
Nanker Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 It's just like in college. Clearly he hasn't returned all his locker room towels and they haven't issued his deposit refund yet. Once he does and they do the final walkthrough, the front office will issue him his decree. "Get thee hence."
Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Why not keep an experienced cheap player for depth?
K-Gun10 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 more importantly why is tim anderson still on the roster.
nucci Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 more importantly why is tim anderson still on the roster. I don't think he is - He is a RFA and was tendered a minimum contract that he has not signed so he really isn't on the roster.
keepthefaith Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Why not keep an experienced cheap player for depth? Exactly. His 2007 salary is $1 million according to a source. That's backup money. http://www.billszone.com/mtlog/archives/20...ry_cap_page.php
Fan in San Diego Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 more importantly why is tim anderson still on the roster. Why was Shaud Williams signed ? I still can't figure that one. He is so small he falls over in a stiff breeze.

He was signed for only 2or 3 years and you need someone in camp. If he blows he goes, if not maybe he stays as a backup. It really is all up to Mertz,Butler, and Preston and posible players to be named later as to how much that extra couple of thousand hurts.
RuntheDamnBall Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Camp body. Since he has no roster bonus it's fiscally OK to keep him on thru camp and then dump him if he doesn't cut the mustard as a reserve. Since he's on a multi-year contract, may as well use what you've got.
JAMIEBUF12 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Why not keep an experienced cheap player for depth? my thoughts exactly depth, plus a blocker for training camp
Christopher Capolupo Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Everyone has it wrong on here.... He is Marv's love partner.
apuszczalowski Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Reyes wasn't benched due to his play, he wasn't that horrible on the field like everyone makes him out to be. The word is he was benched because of his attitude. He was not the "character guy" Marv had hoped he would be and was not giving his all during practice and games so they benched him. He also wasn't listening to the coaches and doing his own things. This is what I have heard on his situation
Lori Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Been wondering the very same thing, Harv... They're waiting to sneak him out the door on draft day when nobody's looking. Good answer. Leave it to you to come up with that... Why not keep an experienced cheap player for depth? The only depth Reyes provided by the end of last season was occupying a permanent spot on the weekly inactive list, holding down the bottom of the depth chart below 2006 seventh-round pick Aaron Merz. Why would things be any different this year?
Albany,n.y. Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Marv must have finally gotten around to reading our board & realized Tuten was still on the roster.
BuffaloBilliever Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Reenactment: Marvin Levy - "Hmm... let's see what our loyal fans on TBD are talking of today... ieatcrayonz bashed his head on the keyboard again... lots of mocks... wait a second... Tutan Reyes is still on the roster? ... By God let's get that fat piece off of there, DICK, GET HERE NOW AND GET FAT REYES ON THE PHONE."
