gflande1 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 NFL Network is reporting that Adalius Thomas is close to signing with the Patriots, just wondering if there was any chance of the Bills being able to afford him. I only ask becuase I heard that the Pats are known for not breaking the bank on free agents, so the fact that they are close to signing him, I would guess its not a huge blockbuster deal like many thought he would get, or atleast very cap friendly the first couple of years. What do you think?
gflande1 Posted March 3, 2007 Author Posted March 3, 2007 Sorry....NFL Network went on to say that this is very unusual for the Pats, that they will sign him to a blockbuster deal...bet that wont go over well in their locker room. Later

Phlegm Alley Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I remember a couple of years ago when Rosie COlvin was a highly sought after FA from the Bears, the Pats inked him to a pretty big deal. Myabe they only break the bank on LB especially they know it is a priority.

The only figures I've heard so far are $7.5 mill per year and $17.5 million guaranteed. But those are not confirmed.
JStranger76 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 The strange thing is Thomas is already 30 years old. Very Redskin type move. He does fit what the Pats do very well though style wise. They did sign Harrison at 32 though, and it paid off big.
