Here is an image of the circuit board I had made from expresspcb for the beer fridge. It uses an ATMEGA8535 for the main microprocessor, 3 intelligent H-bridges to control the motors, a Darlington transistor array to control the solenoid, and a MAX232 for RS232 debug io.

 

I have new found respect for the engineering program at Duke. The control circuit for the solenoid is Senior year Electronics II stuff, nevermind everything else that went into it. That video brought out my inner nerd.

It makes too much noise though. That needs to be ironed out. But I suppose so does the girl.

Then again, I'd prefer not to have bottles of beer heaved at me across the room
