Justice Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 As much as some of you on this board hate Mike you have to admit he's playing well. Not like a 4th overall pick but never the less he's still doing his job. Give him his props!
Happy Days Lois & Clark Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 When I was watching the game vs New England, all the Bills good runs were between Williams and Vallarial. Also the game vs Jacksonville when McGahee was in near the end of the game the Bills ran continuously to the right side This past game vs the jets the good runs were on the side of Jonas Jennings
R. Rich Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 He's doing an okay job, but he isn't playing as well as a highly paid #4 overall pick should.
Rico Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 He played better yesterday than last year's Meadowlands horror show, and he looked good on the 2 TD drives, but he still had a couple of whiffs where he really looked bad. Definitely had a better day than JJ though, that's for sure.
R. Rich Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 As for Jonas, if he really wants the big payday and won't stay for a reasonable amount, I really hope we decide to let him go. We can get a Jonas-like effort out of some other free agent for less than what he'll want, I'm sure.

I'd either move him inside or let him walk.
seq004 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 I keyed on him during the Jets game and he did look better but no where near the dominant player the Bills thought they were getting.
Frez Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Mike Williams dont even come into camp in football shape, what does that say about him? He's a lazy overpaid below average RT. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

Abrahams beat Ellis by a step into the backfield so he got the sack. Otherwise, MW would have looked almost as bad as Jonas did.

No, he's never been dominant, but he did make less mistakes yesterday.
Ray Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 MW has been rolling over every DE he has been playing if you watch him. Ty Warren the Pats 1st round pick last year got creamed by Williams--absolutely lost that battle. Even conceded here in Boston that the Bills right side of the line decimated the Pats--except for Henry's stumbleitis. MW has played well--I know people want to bash him, but he is our best lineman
John from Riverside Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 I would actually like to see Williams and Jennings playing alongside one another.... But that isn't going to happen

I truly believe this. The thing is, he misses assignments, or at least appears to. On one play, Abraham flew by him untouched. I'm sure there is a learning curve, but for 36 million, Big Mike is taking way too long. Besides, wasn't the great McNally supposed to come to town with answers?

PromoTheRobot Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 Mike Williams would be more effective if he just layed on his side like a beached whale. It would take defensive players at least 3-4 seconds longer to run around or climb over him. PTR
