In space no one can hear Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Bears | R. All 32 of the league's strength and conditioning coaches vote for the award. It's nice to see him get recognition from his peers. Jones is a classy and talented indivudual who was dedicated to our community. It's a shame he is not still here. Yet another reason why I am happy that Marv is guiding the ship! (He would have still been here if Marv got the GM job sooner)
Ray Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Yet another reason meathead was so awful. Fred Smerlas was talking about that on WEEI right after meathead and Donahoe did that! Maybe Marv actually does recognize good people! Polian, Butler, Smith, Wade, Cottrell, etc..... He tends to identify and surround himself with good people which is the MAJOR reason he was beought in----but back to the topic, good for R Jones. A guy who was here for a very long time and did great work for the organization.

May be he gets better credit for being in a bigger town.
Buftex Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I was kind of hoping, as Rusty had not been in Chicago too long, he could be lured back to Buffalo by Marv...
Rubes Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 To me this is, by far, the biggest blunder of the Mularkey/Donohoe era. I will never forgive friggin' Meathead for that one.
Nanker Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Congrats to Rusty on this success. He needed it once his auto rust protection business went belly-up.
ThreeBillsDrive Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Kudos to Rusty on the recognition. It's well-deserved. MM will always be in my Idiot Hall of Fame for letting this calibre of guy to leave the Bills organization. I hope you enjoy your 2007 season in Swampland as the new Tight Ends Coach MM. Maybe next year, you'll be demoted yet again to ball boy.
K-Gun10 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 why did mularky get rid of him my memory is a little bleak on that.
Ray Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 he wanted to bring in his own guy--which he did. And that guy is gone now--or at least was demoted! Good move removing a guy who is great at his job for over a decade and bringing a powerlifter.
Lurker Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 he wanted to bring in his own guy--which he did. Sigh..... Funny how winning follows Rusty wherever he goes.
Lori Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 From a recent Ron Borges column: Super shapeFor all the offseason talk about the importance of finding the right head coach, strength and conditioning guru Mike Boyle offers an interesting fact to ponder. Of the 40 teams involved in the last 20 Super Bowls, half used one of four strength and conditioning coaches: Mike Woicik, Rusty Jones, Johnny Parker, or Al Miller. "That has to be much more than a coincidence," said Boyle.
alg Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Ya know, I was not down on TD like many others here. I really enjoyed his wheeling and dealing on draft day, and he was as slick as they come when it came to getting value for players we could not keep. In each of these things he will always be better then Marv. BUT I will simply never forgive TD for robbing the Bills of our team identity. Moving Jones aside. Getting Mr knowitall Greg W who took a top notch defense and striped it of guys like Ted and Pat. At every turn getting rid of guys that bleed RW&B for 'name' FAs like DB. And on and on. If Marv proves one thing in his tenure as GM, it will be that TEAM is far greater then the sum of its parts. Actually, given our reaction to last years team, he probably already has.
Dr. Fong Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 It's a good thing the Bills got rid of that guy. If he had bulked those players up too much they wouldn't fit into our Cover 2 scheme.
