nichebiche Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Today Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 3:16 PM ET | Link DT TERDELL SANDS RE-SIGNED: For those Bills fans who were dreaming of seeing 6'7" 335 pound Terdell Sands lining up at nose tackle (one-technique) for the Bills this fall, I'm hearing he's just re-signed with the Raiders. The potential free agent was locked up for four years $17 million and got $4 million to sign. Even Oakland realized how hard it is to find a behemoth to clog up the middle for your run defense these days. --- guess that takes care of that one. time for some of you to dream of someone else clogging the middle.
Bill from NYC Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 This is OK. There will be less and less UFAs. If the Bills choose to trade down, it will drive up the price.
bills_fan Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Damn. That sucks. What will happen...we'll draft or sign a DT who's too light in the pants, our run D will still be spotty until after next season, when Marv signs UFA Phat Pat Williams to solidify our run D. Wonderful. Thanks Donahoe.

bills_fan Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I hope you're wrong on your prediction for this year. But any post that takes a dig at Donahoe is ok in my book! Nothing would make me happier than being wrong about this. But Alan Branch isn't falling to us and there are very few true one technique NTs out there. And, yes, I believe I loath Tom Donahoe more than almost any human being alive.

My guess is they will sign a dt, og and cb before the draft anways. Thus, giving us flexibility with our pick.
JStranger76 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I'm hoping that too bflodan. Hopefully we do sign a DT, G, and CB before the draft. I don't want to be forced into a pick.
The Quebecer Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 The DT I want as a 2-years stop-gap : Robaire Smith (6'4'', 310lbs), 7-years vet that would provide some experience and leadership to our DL rotation...
John from Riverside Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 The Raiders are not quite as stupid as I thought.... I was hoping Sands would be a "under the radar" pickup
Ozymandius Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Well, he was their top priority... so not surprised.
JStranger76 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I hope we sign one of our top 3 priorities before March. Probably Kelsay even though I'd love it if Jamal Anderson or Gaines Adams fell to us which is wishful thinking........
IDBillzFan Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I just want to thank you for putting a hyphen where it belongs in the title of this thread. You're a righteous biche.
bills_fan Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 My guess is they will sign a dt, og and cb before the draft anways. Thus, giving us flexibility with our pick. This is my belief as well. But MLB would still be a hole.
MattyT Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Too bad. I was looking forward to reading the headline "Brady Sacked By a Great Big Terd."
R. Rich Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 The Raiders are not quite as stupid as I thought.... I was hoping Sands would be a "under the radar" pickup Defensively, they're not stupid @ all. On the other side of the ball, however...
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Terd. I am delighted to see that the first response in this thread was exactly what I was thinking! Man, what kind of sadistic parents out there would name a son "Terdell" anyway?
Ramius Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Defensively, they're not stupid @ all. On the other side of the ball, however... Shhhh! Seeing that the Raiders actually had a decent defense requires a level of depth to a thought. How often is that seen here? Its much easier to see the raiders went 2-14 so obviously they suck everywhere.
Ozymandius Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 You guys sure do whine alot! This was a big (but not unexpected) loss from a thin free agency scene. He was probably the only DT available with dominant upside.
