Cheeseburger_in_paradise Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 There used to be a place in brockport, right on the barge canal, call "Barge Inn." Orlando had a place called "Warm Beer and Lousy Food."
The Poojer Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 oh crap, somehow or another I thought it was Penn St, not Penn Ave...sorry ten dollar pitchers of miller????? for a dive bar??? shouldn't a pitcher of miller be in the 6-7 dollar range????? Tops!!
Ned Flanders Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 from esquire. BTW Ned, do you live on the hill? If so, is there still a place open across the street the from the Eastern Market by the name of Tunnicliffs. Spent many a night closing that place down from bout 87-94. If so, do you go in? Tunnicliff's is still there I believe...the Eastern Market area has really built up the last several years...lots of new bars, restaurants, etc.
Guffalo Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 There is a bar in Bellmore, Long Island, changed names numerous times, the last owner had named it after his dad, so the monograms on the awning and windows were "BC". The place has always lost money so the bartender who had been running the place for the last few years bought it. He never bothered to change the monograms, just the name of the bar...The Bearded Clam, I think they sell more t shirts than draft beers.
eball Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Isn't there a dive in Buffalo called the "Stumble Inn?" It would have been the early 90s when I was there. Great name.

Ned Flanders Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 The Barge Inn, right on the Erie Canal, in Brockport, my college town. Sadly, this fine establishment closed soon after the drinking age was raised to 21. But while I was at Brockport, this was among the top five bars in town.
tennesseeboy Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 In Rochester there was a place called "The Office" which was a nice name...I'm going to spend a few more hours at the office....where were you last night...got stuck at the office.
Marv's Neighbor Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 On the way to springbreak in '93, we drove through a town named "Youfella" and needless to say while in town we passed by the local Inn...named "Youfella Inn". The owner graduated from WHATSAMATTA-U!

Was that the one accross Kodak Park on Dewey Avenue...just down a bit form the California Brew House? If so, I think I remember the joint being called "My Office." But the same jokes apply!

Orlando had a place called "Warm Beer and Lousy Food." hmmm...Barge Inn, Jimmie Macks, Casey's, The Ale House....ahhh the memories. Douobt if your old enough to remember the Roxbury Inn...
Ned Flanders Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Douobt if your old enough to remember the Roxbury Inn... I remember the Rox fondly...their big special was a "Bucket of Rox," six Rolling Rock splits...for some ungodly price like $1.50. The Rox was always THE place for last call...EVERY night of the week. Good pool table too.
