smokinandjokin
LOS LOBOS - Spanish for "The Wolves" That's some good insight into their selected band name... Why didn't they write: THE EAGLES - English for "Las Aguilas"

KD in CA
I didn't see my favorite on the list: Spandau Ballet took their name from a description of the execution of Nazis at Spandau prison after WWII. Apparently the condemned did not fall with enough force to break their necks, so they 'danced' at the end of the hangman's rope while they slowly sufficated. Cripes
They're not on the list, but Fall Out Boy still insists they had never heard of Radioactive Man's sidekick before naming the band.
MikeH
Great list, but I'm surprised Uriah Heep is not on there. They got their name from the character created by Charles Dickens in his novel David Copperfield.

Pretty serious name derivation for a nancy-boy band.
