Buffan00 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=ApfZ...o&type=lgns Peterson drops to #16???
BUFFALOTONE Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 That is a terrible mock in my opinion. If we really decide to take that kid we better trade way the hell down. Somone will want Peterson there, the kid is the best running back in college football.

BUFFALOTONE Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Agreed! Thats if WE dont take him first!!! If peterson is on the board when we pick and Marv passes I will puke. This kid is an unbelievable talent. If thats the case I bet the Giants would trade the farm to grab this kid for the future.

SDS Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 today, Kiper said he had to move Peterson into the top 5 - kicking Quinn down to Miami...
silvermike Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 This guy's got his own set of rankings. Huh.
BUFFALOTONE Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 today, Kiper said he had to move Peterson into the top 5 - kicking Quinn down to Miami... How Kiper takes this kid out of the top 5 at anytime is ridiculous. Johnson, Peterson, Thomas, Branch, Russell. There is your top 5. Mel, I think that mousse is affecting your brain.
2003Contenders Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Just because Peterson is a top 5 prospect, it does not mean that he will be drafted in the top 5. While it is unlikely that he would fall that far, something like that could happen if the teams picking in the top 15 feel that they have a greater need at another position. Personally, I think he would be hard for the Bills to pass up at 12, if he falls that far. With all of that said, this guy's mock draft is definitely different from conventional opinion about how the players should be ranked -- and I second-guess a good number of his picks.

I understand what you are saying but there are teams in the top 5 who need a RB. I just dont see the kid slipping to #16, do you?
Chilly Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 What the sh--? Aaron Ross? I've seen him get picked on here at Texas while playing CB, I don't know how his stock has risen so high. He's had trouble in a number of games.

Chilly Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I hear ya, but would he really be more of a surprise than Whitner or Parrish? It'd be more of a surprise to me than Whitner simply because I don't think Aaron Ross is at the level that even Mel Kiper has him at (around #25). The media absolutely loves Aaron Ross, but I've seen him picked on, particularly the Kansas State game. He did a great job against some WRs but I've seen him juked out of his socks a number of times. He just doesn't seem that fast, and thats going to hurt him a lot more in the NFL.

I agree that it is unlikely that he lasts that long. Honestly, if he slips out of the top 10, I would imagine some team further down that REALLY wants him would seriously consider moving up to get him. It's funny how fluid projections are for RBs. Two years ago, 3 of them (Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, and Cadillac Williams) went within the first five picks of the draft -- and none of them thus far has proven worthy of going so high. Meanwhile, Larry Johnson and Steven Jackson -- both of whom WERE considered the best in their class coming out of school in 2003 and 2004 respectively -- fell toward the end of the first round. Those two guys are now among the top 5 RBs in the NFL.

You can say the same with Addai. The RB's that get picked early usually dont have the OL to run behind, alla Brown, Cadillac. Benson really hasnt done much but spell a very good Jones.
Kuile Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 This guy on Yahoo does not know what he talking about. Ross does not fill our biggest need, nor would he be the best guy on the board.
In space no one can hear Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I have thrown my draft books at the TV a number of times after the Bills selection. If they take Ross I'll break my f@@@'n!!! TV!!
cieslak86 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Yea, if the Bills passed on Peterson to take Aaron Ross, I will puke as well as break my TV.

I totally hear you! When the Raiders took Huff at #7 last year, I was the happiest person in the United States. I saw visions of blockers and extra picks. By the end of day 1, I was sick to my stomach, and actually posted that the Bills would start day 2 with more DBs. This season, I am not going to be shocked.
