smokinandjokin Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 49ers-Dolphins for me, I was 6 years old. I have pretty vivid memories of all of them since then. The Raiders-Skins Super Bowl the year before that doesn't ring any sort of bell.
ajzepp Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 The first one I REALLY watched was Eagles-Raiders, but I do have memories of the Steelers last two SBs in the late 70s.
plenzmd1 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 The first one I REALLY watched was Eagles-Raiders, but I do have memories of the Steelers last two SBs in the late 70s.I am no Super Bowl historian, so not sure what order these were in, but remember Steelers vs Cowboys, Rams and I think the Vikings. Also remeber the Cowboys Broncos with Craig Morton at QB. First real party I remeber going to was freshman year at college in Feb 82
JStranger76 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 The first one I really remember is 49ers 55, Broncos 10.
DrDawkinstein Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 The first one I really remember is 49ers 55, Broncos 10. thats mine too, i was 8 or 9
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Prolly Bears vs Patriettes. I remember a bit from some earlier ones.....Remember that one Raider running for a lot of yardage (and touchdown) past the Eagles. Kenny King?
eball Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Super Bowl XI (Oakland vs. Minnesota) was the first one I recall actually watching with a rooting interest -- the Vikings, of course. I was 8 1/2.
Ramius Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I was 7, 1988, 49ers over the Bengals on Joe Montana to John Taylor's TD pass.

First real party I remeber going to was freshman year at college in Feb 82 It's kinda weird cause I know my family watched the games when I was really young, and I seem to have broken memories of what we did and what was going on in the games. I know I used to really like Drew Pearson, Tony Dorsett, Danny White, and Randy White....and I can recall lots of times when I watched them play, but I can't remember if that was during their second SB against the Steelers or MNF or what....oh well.
smokinandjokin Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 I was 7, 1988, 49ers over the Bengals on Joe Montana to John Taylor's TD pass. That was the first one I remember talking about the next day at school....
Albany,n.y. Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Super Bowl I, I watched it on NBC because I liked the AFL better. I also remember watching the AFC Championship game that was played in the Rockpile on TV & seeing a sign that said "Bills in Super Bowl, Chiefs in soup bowl" Years later when I heard the revisionist history myth that the 1st Super Bowl wasn't called the Super Bowl I knew it was a lie because of the sign at the Rockpile. I looked it up in the library & sure enough, the papers were saying that the Chiefs had just earned a trip to the Super Bowl. All anyone has to do is go to a library & look up a paper on microfilm from 1967 & see everyone referring to the game as the Super Bowl.
BillsVet Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Super Bowl XX...Bears vs. Patsies. Just the idea of Ditka's reaction should anyone have dumped Gatorade all over him kept me watching until the end. Even at a young age I knew that no one dared get Iron Mike. ESPN had Super Bowl XX highlights on today and it never gets old watching the most dominant team in recent memory destroy the Pats.
Phil Indablanc Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 49ers-Dolphins for me, I was 6 years old. I have pretty vivid memories of all of them since then. The Raiders-Skins Super Bowl the year before that doesn't ring any sort of bell. Ugh. I'm so freaking old!!!! Jets over Baltimore.
Beerball Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I remember the Chiefs, their defense was awsome. The first game I really really watched though was Jets Colts.
El Chupacabra Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I was 7, 1988, 49ers over the Bengals on Joe Montana to John Taylor's TD pass. That was the best play in the best Super Bowl ever played. Is there any doubt that Rice (SB XXIII MVP) and Taylor are the best tandem ever?
JAMIEBUF12 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 for me it was pittsburgh dallas in the late 70's.i remember picking the raiders to beat philly and my whole school class thinking i was nuts.
rockpile Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 The first AFL - NFL Championship game. I won $1.50 when the Packers beat the Chiefs, which was a hefty sum of money for me then. I was a Joe Kapp fan in SB III. I was a Jets fan in SB III.
BuffOrange Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I was 7, 1988, 49ers over the Bengals on Joe Montana to John Taylor's TD pass. Same, I was 8. No idea why I wanted the 49ers to win that and the following year.
Boatdrinks Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Raiders 32 Vikings 14. Supe XI if I'm not mistaken. Was 7 at the time, and i loved the Raiders uni's. Thought "the snake" was the coolest nickname for a QB.Thought Dave Casper looked cool. I was hooked on the NFL from that day on.
