Chilly Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 What is everyone's favorite depressing movie? Personally, I'd have to go with Requiem For a Dream.
DrDawkinstein Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 wow, i clicked to post Requiem, so... umm i still dont feel right after having watched that 2 years ago.
Chilly Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 wow, i clicked to post Requiem, so... umm i still dont feel right after having watched that 2 years ago. Yeah, I haven't watched it in a while. That being said, I'm about the watch the DVD copy that I own!
billsfanmiami(oh) Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Requiem would have to be at the top of my list too. American History X is up there too.
Buftex Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" One of may all-time favorite films...not super uplifting!
Chilly Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" One of may all-time favorite films...not super uplifting! Hmm, I've never seen that one. Whats it about? Have you ever seen Requiem? If not, I should show it to you sometime!
Buftex Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Yeah, I haven't watched it in a while. That being said, I'm about the watch the DVD copy that I own! C'mon, the Sabres game wasn't that bad....

Pete Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 What is everyone's favorite depressing movie? Personally, I'd have to go with Requiem For a Dream. Requiem Drugstore Cowboy Trainspotting Butterfly Effect Mystic River Wings of Desire(German version) M Freaks The Champ Kids Birth of a Nation Any Jazz of Blues early years documentary Promises Wit Being John Malkovich The Deer Hunter
justnzane Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 good list by Pete, but I am gunna go in a totally different direction here. Forrest Gump, funny as hell, but seriously you gotta feel for Forrest as his girl is a slut, his best friend gets killed in nam, his girl gets AIDS and his mom dies
Acantha Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 While I think Requiem is the best, another good one is House of Sand and Fog. Jennifer Connelly sure can make a depressing flick.
bartshan-83 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Requiem is pretty messed up. I'd also add Monster. Not only is that movie depressing as hell, you (or at least I) get physically sick that Charlize Theron could look so terrible.
nodnarb Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 always been fond of dead poet's society for this category.
Kelly the Dog Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Leaving Las Vegas. Wings of Desire is an awesome depressing flick, too. Oh, and Daddy Day Care.
Simon Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 I'll throw in a second for Leaving Las Vegas. My first would be At Play in the Fields of the Lord.
Tux of Borg Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Sweet November - The only movie Keanu Reeves didn't ruin with his bad acting.
PromoTheRobot Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Children of Men. Well made. Depressing as all get out. PTR
