Just Jack Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 401K matching - first 3% is 100% matched, then the 4-5% is matched 50%, so if I contribute 5%, my employer basically matches 4% of that. Christmas bonus, even if it's just a few hundred. Travel for work - Company pays $25/day for meals, all hotel rooms, and does not make us share rooms. I saw one group of guys just last week at a hotel we were at that their company makes all 4 of them stay in one room. Company vehicle, tools, all provided, we can purchase what we need. The only downside is if we're in a temporary layoff, of say more that a few weeks, the van and tools need to stay at the office, instead of our homes. Many times I've used my work tools at home for repairs.
LewPort71 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Perks at work. >> Since the new company took over in 2006...Lets see.. We have a 401K but no matching contribution by company... One less vacation week. I used to have 6,,,now 5. Health care plan costs increased $200 per month and if you were covered under a spouse's plan, you were forced to drop the new company's plan....But this is kinda OK in that I get more $$ in the pay check...And the new company has a "AFLAC" type plan that pays for any out of pocket medical expenses, that the spouse's plan does not cover. The dental plan is better in that the new plan pays better than the old company. New company has no pension plan. Gym memberships,,,yeah right... At least the new company is US owned and not controlled by the effen idiots from Scandinavia
mcjeff215 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I get all of the "stock" benefits. All sounds right in line with what everyone else has mentioned. The *one* thing that bugs me is that I need to pay for my own parking. It's a petty complaint, sure, but it's annoying!
meazza Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 RRSP matching of 25% up to 4% of my salary. Stock options where they match your investment by 25%. 3 weeks paid vacation and 4 weeks vacation after 3 years of employment. Maximum annual bonus of up to 14%. Edit : My overtime is paid and I do plenty of extra hours.
