Fingon Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 VY is the alternate behind Tom Brady... so if he chooses to do the Pebble Beach Pro-AM or Peyton doesn't play because of his thumb we could see VY as a starter.

Good lord. He is a fantastic athlete and an amazing player but he is not a Pro Bowl QB. I love watching the guy (except for when he's running circles around our Bills ), however, I think after a few years of taking a beating he will slow down like most running QBs and after that point he is going to have to become a much more efficient passer. I suppose if you add in his 7 rushing TDs it's a different story, but his 12-13 TD/INT numbers are not impressive to me.
smokinandjokin Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Eli Manning, 57.7% completions, 24 TD, 18 INT, by all accounts had a terrible year. Vince Young, 51.5% completions, 12 TD, 13 INT, by all accounts had a great year. Funny game.
1billsfan Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 He did beat our team at the Ralph. So we're not in a postion to mock this selection.
Alaska Darin Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 He did beat our team at the Ralph. So we're not in a postion to mock this section. Most ridiculous criteria ever.
1billsfan Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Most ridiculous criteria ever. I didn't say it was a criteria. Bills fans making fun of it is a rather dubious exercise.
Alaska Darin Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I didn't say it was a criteria. Bills fans making fun of it is a rather dubious exercise. But "because his team won a game in Buffalo" (not Vince Young all by himself) actually holds merit?
1billsfan Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 But "because his team won a game in Buffalo" (not Vince Young all by himself) actually holds merit? Maybe you didn't watch the Bills/Titans game. Vince Young looked like an All Pro that day and was by far the best player on the field. If you want to delve into semantics with the "team" thing then so be it, I'm not going to continue to argue with you any longer on this matter. I know what I saw, and any Bills fans poking fun at Vince look awfully silly considering how he played that day.

1billsfan Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Do you think you're actually helping yourself here? You're a foolish man if you don't think Vince had his way with the Bills. Try helping yourself and actually watch the game (it's obvious you didn't), before you dig yourself an even bigger hole here.

Care to tell me exactly where my analysis of the game existed in that post? Are you reading something that isn't there? Could that possibly be? Much like your ridiculous contention that BILLS fans can't be against the selection of Vince Young to the Pro Bowl. You know, because it's not at all possible that they've seen him play in games that didn't involve the BILLS. As far as Vince having his way with the BILLS, that isn't exactly news this season. There weren't too many guys running with the ball who didn't manage to fare pretty well. We gave up an average of SEVEN yards per carry to friggin' Samkon GADO. Jacksonville ran for over 200 yards against us. We should vote their whole OLine to the Pro Bowl. At least it means Texans fans will vote for JP Losman.

ricojes Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Just goes to show how weak the QB position was in the AC. Baltimore - McNair was very average Buffalo - JP improved and had a decent year Cincinnati - Palmer, came on strong later in the season Cleveland - Nothing to see here people Denver - Changed QB's during the season Houston - Carr, very disappointing season Indy - Manning, probably the best Qb in the league Jax - QB position a mess KC - Injury to Green, Huard played well Miami - A mess (LOL) NE - Brady had a good year NYJ - Pennington had a good year, but no arm strength Oakland - Another mess Pitt - Big Ben had a down year, played better towards the end of the season SD - Rivers had a good year Tenn - VY had an average year for a rookie That being said, Manning, Palmer, & Rivers voted in the 2007 PB. Rivers is hurt, so Brady is a good fill in. After that, who do you go with?

Care to tell me where in my original reply to this thread I said that Bills fans CAN'T be against the selection? Also, where did I say that beating the Bills was the criteria for Vince Young making the Pro Bowl? You can't, because it's not there. It's not what I wrote. You may be able to twist other peoples words, but your not going to twist mine. I said we're NOT IN A POSITION TO MOCK THIS SELECTION. Fans can do whatever they hell they want to do, that includes making fools of themselves by mocking players that made their team look like a bunch of pee-wee football players. Go ahead, knock yourself out. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Mock: 1. to attack or treat with ridicule, contempt, or derision. 2. to ridicule by mimicry of action or speech; mimic derisively. 3. to mimic, imitate, or counterfeit. 4. to challenge; defy: His actions mock convention. 5. to deceive, delude, or disappoint. –verb (used without object) 6. to use ridicule or derision; scoff; jeer (often fol. by at). But you warned me. Oooh.

Captain Hindsight Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 the only thing that makes me mad about this idea (trust me he's that good i saw him live) is that all the "Experts" will be convinced that he is officially the greatest qb to ever plyy because he started the pro bowl his rookie year. Salisbury: i told you this kid was gonna be great, he started the pro bowl in his rookie year, that why he's better than Leinart or JP or Even Peyton Manning no of them could do that thier rookie year.... Watch for that in a few years on NFL Live
