Also noted that the only 'big decision' player we have on our roster whose contract expires in '07 is: Willis. This is interesting.

You're right, that's very interesting. Next offseason we won't have many difficult decisions to make. 2008 will be a tough year, though.

Hopefully a couple of those will be taken care of this off season.

I would rather see a Pats cap page than a Fins.

We won't have to worry about the Fins for a while.

Miguel, over at patsfans.com, does a great job with their cap #s (although it looks like his 2007 page isn't ready yet). I think Clumpy does the Fish page because none of their fans are bright enough to figure out Excel...

Wow, the team has some bargains on the roster. Gonna have to spend a few bucks over the next couple years to lock up guys like JP and others.

Thankfully it's been quite a while since the words Miami and Excel have been used in the same sentence.

Any idea of what these guys would count against the cap if cut (i.e. Spikes)?

According to Bills Daily's cap page, releasing Spikes would mean $3mill in dead money, but also save $3mill.

Hey Clump, props to you in Ed Kilgore's latest column. Congrats. Oh, and there was a salcap printout being passed around the Booster Club meeting the other night that looked suspiciously like yours, too...

Thanks, Clump, although I am also getting the ads over the ledger, on both firefox and IE.

AdBlock Plus (Firefox add on) takes care of that nicely.

Thanks for the info Clumpy. GREAT job. We have a lot of cap room...no?

Sounds like the Bills are still up the cap.

Bills Under Cash To Cap Figure: The Buffalo News did a nice job of breaking down the Bills money situation for this year. Despite the lavish spending on day one of free agency on three offensive linemen, the Bills remain just below the salary cap figure in real dollars. The league raised the cap to $112 Million, which means the Bills would spend that much in real dollars this year. The News figures the team has spend $103 Million, that leaves them $9 Million in real dollars to spend but at least $5 Million will be used on rookies. The team could free up more space by releasing players, Takeo Spikes continues to get mentioned. The team is well below the cap as they are about $17 Million under, so if they wish they can break their rule and still be under the cap.

This is what I say, trade Takeo to Chicago along with a low round pick and get Briggs to play for us. He is only a 3 yr vet. And we all know he love to tackle, no problem playing outdoors. Seems like a good fit
