ganesh Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Vikings | Williams receives praise from Bears' Kreutz Mon, 29 Jan 2007 07:40:29 -0800 Sean Jensen, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings DT Pat Williams will be headed to his first Pro Bowl this year, replacing injured Chicago Bears DT Tommie Harris (hamstring), but he received some praise from an unexpected source, Bears C Olin Kreutz, recently. "Pat is the best run stuffer in the league, by far, of all the guys I've played against," Kreutz said. "Even though we don't get along or whatever, wherever he goes, it's the No. 1 run defense, and that's because of him." Williams was happy to hear the compliment from Kreutz, someone who he has had verbal disputes with in the past. "I appreciate that a lot because we had our differences, and we talked bad about each other, but we respect each other on the field and squashed everything," Williams said.
Simon Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Major congrats to the Phat one. This ought to be about his 5th trip instead of his first.
Peter Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I am very happy for Pat. It was not too long ago that we had some stud DTs. Those were the days when we could actually stop the run.
