slothrop Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 He was ahead of his time both musically and politically. "I am against a fascist theocracy" He saw what was coming with this administration.
sweetbaboo Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 wow...zappa really was ahead of his time if he foresaw 9/11, the rise of terrorism and the GW administration
slothrop Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 wow...zappa really was ahead of his time if he foresaw 9/11, the rise of terrorism and the GW administration He, as did many others in the 1980's, saw the coming of the "religious right" as a potent political force and the damage it could do to a secular democracy.
Pete Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 What a bunch of tools! Its 3 guys ganging up on Zappa and their combined intelligence does not add up to Franks. Frank handles himself with class and is very eloquent. No contest- TKO Zappa Just would like to add- John Lofton is a POS ignoramus
millbank Posted January 29, 2007 Author Posted January 29, 2007 Frank Zappa Senate Judiciary Hearings Frank before the Senate, very well spoken Person he was. Frank on Mike Douglas Show never would have thought they would allow him on. He plays a instrumental , imagine he surprised a number of folks then.
bobblehead Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 He, as did many others in the 1980's, saw the coming of the "religious right" as a potent political force and the damage it could do to a secular democracy. Yes, this is exactly the point. The changing of the political geography, as well as the political media, and the effect the evangelical right would have on it was not entirely unforseen. What appeared to be a silly fight with a kook back then was really a foreshadowing of the near future, and Frank was quite aware that times were changing.
