RIP Ron Carey

...Carey played a Boston cab driver in the 1970 Jack Lemmon comedy "The Out of Towners." He also appeared in scores of commercials, and took pride in being a supporting player and a character actor.

 

 

Damn. Out of Towners(the original) is one of my favorite movies and I don't remember him in it. There was the cabbie who couldn't make change for the fare, but I don't remember that being Carey. Damn, it sucks getting old and not being able to remember things!

Carey was a character actor on the best, and by far the most realistic cop show ever made, "Barney Miller."

He added a lot to this great show, and was a New Jersey guy.

They better not put "Barney Miller" out on DVD before they release the third season of "Silver Spoons", "Too Close for Comfort" and the final season of "What's Happening?"

OMG--he was absolutey hilarious in Barney Milller...great character actor and comedian. 71 is too young to go..
