Bill from NYC Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Carey was a character actor on the best, and by far the most realistic cop show ever made, "Barney Miller." He added a lot to this great show, and was a New Jersey guy. Sad News
Golden Wheels Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 He was Brophy in Mel Brooks' High Anxiety, a very funny film.
LabattBlue Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 ...Carey played a Boston cab driver in the 1970 Jack Lemmon comedy "The Out of Towners." He also appeared in scores of commercials, and took pride in being a supporting player and a character actor. Damn. Out of Towners(the original) is one of my favorite movies and I don't remember him in it. There was the cabbie who couldn't make change for the fare, but I don't remember that being Carey. Damn, it sucks getting old and not being able to remember things!
