NCDAWG Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 And I love it. Have any of you asked for an instrument for a present and how have you enjoyed it? It is very relaxing so far, and I am just taking it slow.

Ever listen to sufjan stevens? he uses the banjo pretty liberally in his music.
NCDAWG Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 I never heard of that guy...I always have liked bluegrass and this winter we went to the tennessee mountains and saw a local mountain band playing and it was awesome. Just kinda od inspired me to try.

I have played with guitars for a few years, and will likely soon buy a bass.
Corp000085 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I got a guitar as a wedding gift. I'd never touched the guitar before that day, but i had told my wife i was always interested in playing it. Cool gift... and 3 years later, i'm halfway decent.
inkman Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I got a guitar for my first weding anniversary, and six months later I still suck. (but riffs from smoke on the water, sunshine of your love, and ironman can be heard echoing throughout our apt building)
