Bush is going to start a war with Iran

It starts with his statements about Iran in his speech last night, and talking about moving Patriot missiles and a carrier battlegroup to the region. Obviously those aren't needed for the Iraq civil war. Then the military in Iraq went into an Iranian consulate and took Iranians into custody. The conservative talking heads are now all saying that Iran needs to be dealt with. The next step will probably be an airstrike against some Iranian target with the explaination being that they were cutting off aid going to the Iraqi insurgents. Some Iranian gunboat with a machine gun will shoot at an American ship, Bush will declare that Iran has attacked the U.S., and the bombers will be in the air bombing all the suspected nuclear facilities. So in the end the war will be broadened, any moderates left in the Middle East will side with Iran, Bush will do the dirty work for Israel and the neo-cons, oil will go to $100 a barrel, and worst of all the lack of vision by this administration will needlessly cost the lives of many more American soldiers. If it gets to that point I pray that the Congress, and especially the Republicans, get the backbone to impeach both Bush and Cheney for their utter incompetence.

It sure looks like what you are saying is coming true. Drudge had a Pat Buchannan article from antiwar.com up the last few days about this:

We also note that the Iranian consulate was raided by US troops. Provoking a response? If Bush can stir the country up for another war he might feel he is off the hook for Iraq. FDR had the USS Greer incident, LBJ had the Maddox and Turner Joy 'Incident' and who knows? The war lovers are sure hoping we can send Americans into another fight, something exciting on tv and all.

And mental giants like you are hoping for another 9/11. "Peace in our time" is your mantra.

It is good thing we have those soothing comments from the President of Iran to help ease the tensions......

No one cares what Pat Buchannan has to say. Ever.

BTW, PastaJoe, they're coming to get you. You weren't imagining those black helicopters flying about your house. And nothing is as it seems.

Could I get the lottery numbers for next week while you're at it?

I remember some other predictions from a few years back.

"We will be greeted as liberators"

"Mission Accomplished"

"Iraq is not in a civil war"

"Iraq is stockpiling WMD's"

I bet virtually everything Pasta Joe stated in regard to Iran will happen, just as progressives predicted the disaster that is now iraq months and years before it happened, despite all the ignorant rhetoric from the radical conservative element.

all the ignorant rhetoric from the radical conservative element

"Israel is destined for destruction and will soon disappear"

Israel is "a contradiction to nature, we foresee its rapid disappearance and destruction."

"To hell with the West. You can do as much as you like."

"I believe the German people are prisoners of the Holocaust. More than 60 million were killed in World War II . . . The question is: Why is it that only the Jews are at the center of attention?"

Congrats. Now point the ol' radar at your big government programs with the same skeptical eye. You'll see little difference. But you're somehow "progressive."

Actually, I beg to differ. People like Buchanan and Gingrich are the new stalwarts of the "true" Republican/Conservative movement.

Downright scary that yesterday's radicals are today's moderates.
