and in return receive their #1 2007 Draft Pick. It is projected to be around the 20th selection.

Tiki Barber has retired and the NY Giants need a RB to replace him. Their #2 RB is Brandon Jacobs a short yardage specialist. The Giants have cap room and may need to make a major offseason move to deflect or inject coaching misfortunes.

Buffalo could then pick up a RB in free agency or use one of the two #1 to draft a RB.

Willis and "the agent" would love the NY glow and rid Buffalo of a someone that really doesn't want to be here.

The only downside......what would Allen Wilson (Buffalo News) have to write about during the offseason???

Other than the fact he only has one more year, this trade makes no sense. You don't trade away someone when you have no replacement for him. A-train is nothing more than back-up material & is (I think) a free agent. Unless we get a done deal with the Giants, AFTER acquiring Willis' replacement, it is just plain ridiculous. Now, if we do get a starting RB in free agency, then a 1st round pick for Willis (if any team is dumb enough to make that trade) would be a go. More likely, we let Willis play out his contract, draft a RB in rounds 2-4 and then, with Willis still here, decide if he can be the starter in 2008. If he's not then the 2008 starter is either a FA or a high 2008 pick.

it will be a cold day in hell when someone offers us a 1st rounder for McGahee. I would certainly trade him for it if someone did offer it however.

"Hey Tom, this is Marv. We want to send you Willis McGahee for the 20th overall pcik in the draft."

"Um, Tom? Hello?"

well as long as we're daydreaming here - nothing would make me smile more than marshawn lynch falling to us at 12 and then making a draft day trade of WM to the gmen for their 20 and then taking patrick willis or quinn pitcock or justin blalock

but im sure they'll say something like 'and with the 12th pick in the 2007 draft, the buffalo bills select - someone i never heard of'

i will say that, yes, id make that deal immediately. i partly say that because there is no way we get more than a LATE 2nd for him. but most likely it would be tough to get better than a 3rd.

McGahee is about as good as Henry when we tried trading him. We got an early 3rd for Henry so...

Why don't we trade him to New Orleans for Reggie Bush, Drew Brees and a first round pick, while we're at it.

LOL.

Yeah, OF COURSE you make that trade if it's available. But it's not realistic. It's a horrible trade for the Giants.

It's the offseason, so I guess it's time for terrible trade ideas. I think a rule should be made that if you want to post a trade idea, you need to clear it with the fans of the other team involved in the trade first. If you suggested this trade on a Giants board, you would be laughed off the board.

Its a good idea at a bad time! We have many needs with this team, DT, LB, OL, CB, WR all come before McGahee. Trust me if Mcgahee wants to be paid, he will have to show and play ball.

I could see it next year maybe. But it all depends on who the Giants draft this draft. I think they use the # 1 pick on a RB. Or it might be defense. They are in need of a LB aswell. I really see London Fletcher fitting with the G-men!

But, bottom line is, we have other needs right now then to worry about Willis McGahee. Im trying to figure him out right now if he wants to be here or not and why he didnt show up for the Ravens game.....Im trying to give him benefit of the doubt. He did break his ribs and those dont heal very fast. So im sure he played all banged up this year and it slowed him down.

But then again....Buffalo is well under the cap and has the money to do some MAJOR damage on the free agent market. Marketing the team this year will be HUGE. I think one BIG free agent signing will get some other key FA's to come visit Buffalo.

The more likely scenario is the Bills trading down from 12 if Lynch or Peterson are there, picking up an extra 2nd rounder from the Giants and taking Okoye, Willis, or the OG from Texas at 20.

I think if Lynch or Peterson are available at #12, the last thing you do is trade that pick. You select either one of them and groom them to become WM's replacement when he walks after the '07 season. Even use the 2 of them in the backfield because it is becoming more "vogue" in the NFL to operate a running back by committee backfield as opposed to having a feature back.

The Bills would be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for WM.

That's the better question--would you trade WM to the Giants for their 3rd round pick?

I would say no. Hopefully Willis has a monster year being in his contract here and then we can slap a franchise tag on him and trade him for a 2nd or 3rd rounder the year after.

Nah I wouldnt take a 3rd for Willis, I think he is worth a # 2. Im sure the Giants would do it too, they are in need of a RB.

Its still in the back of my mind that if they fire Tom Coughlin, Barber will come back or atleast the new staff will try to lure him back. I doubt its possible.......

Boy, part of me says I'd take that deal in the proverbial "New York second" - while part of me says I'd love to see a motivated Willis have a break-out year and be part of something great here in The BuffTown.

As optimistic as I often am, even I don't see either scenario a realistic one.
