ganesh
But his price tag is going to be more than Clements'. Deservedly so. While a lot of Nate's worth is in his own mind, AS's is on film and in the numbers. One thing though...Samuel has been an Outright system CB....He has played very well in that Belicheks system. Sometimes these guys just don't get the big money especially when their own team does not want to pay the big bucks.....I have seen this quite often with the Steeler super stars. buzzbait1965
Talk about a pro bowl snub. I'm pretty sure they said yesterday he wasn't selected. How you could have 10 picks and not go is the reason that the pro bowl ballotting should be scraped.
UConn James
Why, exactly are they free the next year? The team could franchise them again. And Samuel is going to forfeit 4 million dollars to sit out half a year and HIGHLY risk losing mega-millions in FA the next year if he is let go (because chances are he won't be as effective missing half the year plus teams will not be as accepting of a malcontent who turns on his team for greed). For what? To prove a non-existent point? It simply doesn't and won't happen. It would be cost-prohibitive to put a franchise tag on Samuel (or most any player) two years in a row. In the second year, they go from being paid the avg of the top-5 at their position, to being paid the avg of the top-5 salary among all players (which, by next year, I wouldn't be surprised at ~15M/year). As for the bolded part.... We're talking about the NFL, no? There's no shortage of teams who will pay top dollar for a malcontent, as long as they think he'll put up big numbers.
