MartyBall4Buffalo Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 No to morgan he's injured often. I'd take a waiver out on Jenkins but I wouldn't break the bank for him he's not the same dominating force he used to be. It could also be that he plays with peppers. Lucas wouldn't be bad. Todd Steussie is gonna be 37 years old PASS
billybob Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I know he's had some injury problems but Kris Jenkins would be a sweet pickup
inkman Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 um...didn't we sign a FA DT and draft 2 DT's in the first few rounds of last years draft.

Jenkins is definately talented but the money he'd command likely eliminate any possibility of re-signing Nate so say no thanks. Also I like our rotation if we can replace Tim Anderson with Ian Scott. Ken Lucas is definately worth looking at if lose Nate. Dan Morgan's injuries issues are a big time concern. If we add him I'd definately get a security blanket like Anthony Waters in the 3rd Round.
billybob Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 um...didn't we sign a FA DT and draft 2 DT's in the first few rounds of last years draft. Yep but it didn't take - Kris Jenkins would help the line alot.
Kuile Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Would Dan Morgan come cheap, though? I know he is hurt a lot, but a short deal would be great for a mil or two might be worth it.
Zulu Cthulhu Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Yes to jenkins Definitely a big yes to Lucas --> he would be a step up from "playmaker"
TheMadCap Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Jenkins and Lucas will be re-signed by Carolina...
a player to be named later Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Lucas does not need to be resigned. As I remember his contract was up in '04 and his resigning was sort of a benchmark on how much we would have to pay Nate.
billybob Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 neither need to be resigned - Panther's just don't have very much cap room and Lucas is their 3rd cb - Jenkins has had some injury problems which has reuced him from great to merely very good.
Dibs Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 um...didn't we sign a FA DT and draft 2 DT's in the first few rounds of last years draft. Errr....no. 1 DT in the 1st & 1 DT in the 5th. But essentially you are correct since the 5th rounder came on strong......however, since we use high rotation at DT, we need another good DT(Anderson is not gonna get it done). Along with the concept that McCargo may well be(not saying he will be) a bust & looking at the run D stats......we NEED another good DT.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I wouldn't sign any of those guys. Agreed. I just do think these guys are a great fit.

I think that people should just get used to the concept that Nate Clements and his ridiculous contract he is going to command are going to be gone before next season.... SO....if we arent going to be as good at the position we need to be as good as possible up front....and Jenkins is a playmaker.....
