Just Jack Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Ariz. Cardinals fire coach Dennis Green TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona Cardinals fired coach Dennis Green on Monday after he failed to turn the downtrodden franchise into a winner in three seasons on the job. Green was dismissed one day after the Cardinals concluded a 5-11 season with a 27-20 loss at San Diego. He finished with a 16-32 record at Arizona. The Cardinals will pay $2.5 million to buy out the final year of his contract.
taterhill Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 the unemployment office is where I thought it was....where I thought it was...and I took a wrong turn...if you want to crown me then crown me...but the unemployment office is where I thought it was
Albany,n.y. Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Three things you can count on: Death, Taxes & whenever a new coach is hired by the Cardinals, he promises to turn the team into a winner & a few years later is fired with a losing record.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 I never would have guessed this would happen. LOL!

ExiledInIllinois Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Arz woes gotta be mgmt! Look they are THEE oldest franchise in the league and what?... Got a 3-5 playoff record to show for over 80 years of existence? WTF? It has got to be the Bidwell family???... And we think Ralph is bad at times!
LynchMob23 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Add Mora to the list as well...and maybe Saban by 4pm!
BuffaloWings Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Add Mora to the list as well...and maybe Saban by 4pm! If he takes Alabama's offer....40 million for 4 years??!?!?!? Green's fate was decided after the collapse against the Bears, but the new coach has some stuff to work with.

LynchMob23 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 40M for 10 years My question is (not even as a Bills fan, just as a person with common sense) how can he not? He'll recruit like crazy, have time to hit the links and even if they had to fire him, I'm sure he'll work it that they'd have to buy him out for a heck of a lot...and then he can head to the next team...Nice work if you can get it eh? I'm surprised we never hear the same things for coaches like this that you hear from players...greed...no loyalty...blahblahblah...
BuffaloWings Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 40M for 10 years Yep...my bad. I mis-read the ESPN article.

DrFishfinder Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Maybe Huizenga will go after Denny if/when Saban leaves for 'Bama. Might as well get a retread coach to go with his retread QB's.

LynchMob23 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Jim Mora is on the NFL Network now, listing all their accomplishments for the season...holy free resume Batman!
DrFishfinder Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 More likely he'd go after Mora But we can still hope he promotes Mularkey to HC Yeah! Boy, I'd love to see My Yami punt on 1st down!

MRW Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Over/Under on the Pete Carrol Arizona PC is set at 10 1/2 days If he's a moron, maybe. Why on earth would he ever leave USC? Especially for Arizona.
