Dan Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 If the Bills could have beaten the Titans, would there be a scenario that would have them in the playoffs after this week? I'm just wondering, that's all.

Dan Posted December 29, 2006 Author Posted December 29, 2006 yes, there were a couple possibilities. That's what I thought. I assume they would have been fairly remote possibilities, as well. It was just a passing thought as I watched more VY highlights on Point After. That's the worst lasting effect about that game, just more b roll of a young, media star running all over Bills players.
MikeH Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Here is what Chris Brown from BB.com posted in his Blog about the scenario that would have existed if we would have won : BILLS PLAYOFF CHANCES WOULD'VE BEEN SLIM: With the Jets winning Monday night the Bills playoff chances would've been fairly remote. Both the Jets (vs. Oakland) and Broncos (vs. San Fran) are in win and in situations for the postseason. The Bills would've needed to beat Baltimore Sunday and then have the Chiefs beat Jacksonville, the Broncos lose to San Fran and the Jets beat Oakland. Under that scenario the Jets finish 10-6 and get the 5th seed. And then the Chiefs, Broncos and Bills would all be in that much talked about 3-way tiebreaker at 9-7 in which the Bills would emerge with the 6th AFC playoff spot. Unfortunately it's all for naught now.

Unfortunately it's all for naught now. It's not that remote actually. I think the Niners could win that game. And it's pretty much impossible to win at KC late in the season. The hardest part would hav been beating Baltimore.

Koufax Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Yep, the only thing standing between the Bills and the playoffs was finishing 9-7. A couple more yards for a Lindell kick last week and avoiding the two INTs (and converting the 1st and goal from the 3) today. Oh well, we have 8 months to talk about the draft and free agency and training camp, and get ready for an exciting 2007 in year two of the DJ/ML era.
