Fezmid Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Especially cool are the picture of the spacestation/shuttle and the picture of Saturn. http://www.badastronomy.com/bablog/2006/12...images-of-2006/
theesir Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks for that, it was great. The explanations of each picture are very interesting as well. I've forwarded the site to a friend of mine who teaches Earth Science and Astronomy, I'm sure he will be able to work those into his classes.
SDS Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 scroll down and you will read this: "Wow, it’s uncanny, isn’t it? It looks just like a face… if that face was hit repeatedly with high speed projectiles and then covered with lumpy mashed potatoes."
Beerball Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Very nice, wonderful images. But the posters leave something to be desired, all are too nice.
ajzepp Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Wow, that image of Saturn with Earth in the distance is one of the most amazing images I've ever seen....that is truly amazing!
GoodBye Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Wow, those were cool! The one of Saturn is the best but I also like the space pic with all the colors.
/dev/null Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 scroll down and you will read this: "Wow, it’s uncanny, isn’t it? It looks just like a face… if that face was hit repeatedly with high speed projectiles and then covered with lumpy mashed potatoes." That’s no face… it’s a butte!
Pete Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Wow, that image of Saturn with Earth in the distance is one of the most amazing images I've ever seen....that is truly amazing! my new desktop photo. It used to be USA soccer with Sams army in the background. Great pic but that team had no heart
TheMadCap Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 All of those pictures and much, much more, can be found at the following link: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html Be warned, you will spend hours looking at this site, it has a picture for every day of the year stretching back to about 1995 or so.
