I hate the Holidays

Let me just start off saying that I hate this time of year, It wasn't always this way, several years ago I remember enjoying it, maybe because I was a kid at the time. This year is more difficult than years past. This is my first Christmas alone, my marriage ended this year, while it had too, it still makes it hard. I grew up in Western NY and being in Orlando doesn't help, it's 75 degrees outside, and I have no family in this area.

If there are any people out there like me, I want to let you know you are not alone.

Find the next Jet Blue flight home and be with your family.

You've been a member in good standing in this little electronic community here for a good number of years. I have always enjoyed reading your posts and comments.

It's hard around the holidays, being away from the things we have depended upon.

Merry Christmas, frogger. Tough times fade, and here's to better days for you, my friend...

I guess I'm in the minority because I prefer to spend Christmas away from my family. Yes, I miss my nieces opening up their presents, but that's it. I hate having meaningless conversations with family members I don't really know. Give me a beer and let me watch my football.

I do participate in the giving of Christmas. I send packages to all my friends over seas and donate toys for underprivileged children. This year was easy because I was given a list of what each child wanted. Hopefully I didn't screw up and buy sucky toys.

I bet they have rolled their eyes for years at the mere mention of your name, cursed God or luck that you still exist, and hoped against hope you would just never show up ever again, Christmas or not.

But seemingly, they remain gracious beyond your ken...

Yet you have no problem with meaningless conversations here?

Turn those conversations into meaningful ones and get to know your family. Just a thought.

Frogger, this time of year stinks for many. I hope you are near the uphill swing.

I've been there...but just because it's going to be a rough year for you doesn't mean you won't have good times at the holidays in the future.

Here's a little present to get you back on your feet:

Plenty of fish in the sea

Let me just start off saying that I hate this time of year...

Inkman's three step holiday cure all:

1. Go to liquor store and seek out these items.

-MD 20\20 (anyone who's had it knows where I'm going)

-Jose Quervo Tequila

-Carton of Ciggies

2. Find the crappiest motel room in town and make a teporary residence out of it.

3. Seek out your local Russian escort service.

The end result of this should leave you sitting naked in your motel room contemplating why the hell didn't you just go to your relatives and strike up some meaning less conversation.
