PromoTheRobot Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Honestly, Bills fans are NOT that great. I'm embarressed by the lack of sellouts. Considering how cheap tickets are, there's no excuse if Buffalo really supports the Bills. I think the main reason is there are only about 60,000 diehards, and the rest are fairweather, call-me-when-they-start-winning fans. I've been following this team all my life and that's just how I see it. FYI: I live 500 miles from Buffalo and still buy seasons, even though I only get to 3-4 games a year. PTR
Fezmid Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Let me first say that I'm a Bills fan but have never set foot in Buffalo. WIth that being said , you can't just compare household incomes; how much does housing/rent and taxes cost in Green Bay compared to Buffalo? Without comparing that it is useless stats. Like I tell my former co-worker it's a big difference if you choose to take a job paying $100K in an area where the average house cost $440K as compared to where the same job salary is $70K and the average house cost $250K. You might think $30K more is a big difference but it's not when you consider %40 of that will go to taxes while you will definitely have $1000-1500 month mortgage difference. It's not how much you make but how much you are worth and I'm pretty sure those in Green Bay in the Midwest where evrything is cheap are living much better than anybody in the state of NY where taxes alone can break you! 875057[/snapback] You've never been in Buffalo, and apparently have never been in the midwest either, because things aren't cheap here. Houses cost a LOT more here than in WNY (a house in the slums of Minneapolis costs over $100,000!). I just checked a "cost of living" calculator on CNNMoney and it returned this: http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/costoflivin...lo+NY&x=19&y=11 Salary in Green Bay WI: $100,000 Comparable salary in Buffalo NY: $104,132.84 If you move from Green Bay WI to Buffalo NY... Groceries will cost: 20.612% more Housing will cost: 5.286% less Utilities will cost: 36.196% more Transportation will cost: 4.881% more Healthcare will cost: 0.273% more This one says it's only 5% cheaper to live in Buffalo: http://www.bestplaces.net/col/?salary=1000...3080&city2=1280 This one says if you make $100,000 in GB, you'd need to make $118,000 in Buffalo! http://www.cityrating.com/costofliving.asp So your thinking that the midwest is so much cheaper than WNY is clearly off, sorry CW

AJ1 Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 What I'd like to know is how many games after Thanksgiving in the history of the Ralph have been sellouts. Any? A December game has always been a tough sell. If the team had any demographics on where their sales came from, my bet is the long distance sales (outside of 150 miles) dwindled to minimums for the last three games. Given the sophistication of the Bills ticket office, I doubt that the Bills have data that would prove this.
