Beerball Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Anyone watch that game? At one point Garcia was sacked and fumbled; NY recovered. There was also a flag on the play, illegal chop block against iggles. After the TV break NY had the ball at around the Ph 7 yard line. The explanation was that the penalty was tacked on giving the gints even better field position. ???How can they have both? Don't you either accept the play (gint recovery) or the penalty? In this case NY got the benefit of both. Anyone???
eSJayDee Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Isn't a illegal chop block considered a personal foul? I'm speculating it's sorta like a flagrant facemask that CAN be tacked on to the result of the play OR taken in lieu of the result at the choice of the violated team.
