rickspride Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Man, have you seen this article about the greatest sports movie coaches. I agree with at least 2/3 of their opinion. And hey it's to remember these great coaches. here's the list: http://maximonline.com/slideshows/index.as...Id=112&src=gx17
jester43 Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 that list is !@#$ed. everyone knows the best movie coach was craig t. nelson in ALL THE RIGHT MOVES. he was spectacular as the consummate self-important know-it-all DICKHEAD high school football coach. tom cruise's finest moment as an actor was when he was running down the street in that film yelling to craig t. nelson..."YOU'RE NOT GOD!....YOU'RE JUST A TYPING TEACHER!!" so perfect and so true. i love football, but some of these guys need to take a look in the mirror. craig t. nelson was every a-hole coach i've ever known in that movie.

2020 Our Year For Sure Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Christopher McDonald in Celtic Pride. "No Lurch, I don't wanna see any of your bad crap...just stand under the basket AND REBOUND!"
TheZone78 Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 I'm sorry but that rant by Nick Nolte in Blue Chips around the start of the movie is just plain hilarious.......especially when he comes back into the room to dish out some more.
EndZoneCrew Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Paul Newman as PLAYER-COACH Reggie Dunlup in Slap Shot

loadofmularkey Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks in Miracle. Best Unintentional Comedy coach: Nick Nolte in Blue Chips. What a tour de force he was in that movie.
tennesseeboy Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Pat O'Brian coaching Ronald Reagan in Knute Rockne...but then I'm an Irish catholic, so anything with Notre Dame and Pat O'Brian is going to be high on my list.
Kelly the Dog Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 There really isn't any question in my mind. It's Walter Matthau in The Bad News Bears. "Contract disputes."
