bisonbrigade Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Drew Brees is a total passing machine. He is making the Big Tuna have an ulcer. I am glad that the dumb ass Dolphins went cheap and didnt sign him in the offseason. Culpepper over Brees? Thank God for the Great GM of the Dolphins.
daquixers_is_back Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 In all honesty (dont laugh), Drew Brees reminds me of Tom Brady without the SB rings. He has poise, he has a good arm but not a great one, he can dink and dunk it then throw a 40 yard TD (which he just did). He (in my opinion) is a real franchise QB.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 There are just a few minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, and Brees already has 384 yards and 5 TD's! He could be the guy to break Marino's 5,084 passing yards mark.
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Drew Brees was the best fa pickup of the year. Hes got a strong enough but not rocket arm and hes accurate and doing it with a bunch of no names. Hes a fun qb to watch, but you think with all that money he's making he could do something about that hideous mole
bisonbrigade Posted December 11, 2006 Author Posted December 11, 2006 Dan Marino has to be crapping in his pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
loadofmularkey Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I'd like to take this opportunity to thank myself for picking up Drew Brees in my fantasy league after Week 3. Thanks me.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Oh yeah, and the Saints play the Giants and Redskins, who had bottom-third passing defenses (plus the Saints who are near the top third). Brees could very well do it.
C.Biscuit97 Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I'd like to take this opportunity to thank myself for picking up Drew Brees in my fantasy league after Week 3. Thanks me. 862535 I'm in the playoffs in two different fantasy leagues and had to go against Brees in one and LT in the other. Yeah, sucks to be me.

MadBuffaloDisease Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I see the Saints taking the top spot in the NFC. The Bears suffered a HUGE blow with Tommie Harris being lost for probably the rest of the year, and Grossman is all over the place.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 The Chargers were brilliant for taking LT and Brees over Mike Vick. They weren't so smart in drafting Rivers and letting Brees go. As an aside, Brees just knocked me out of the fantasy playoffs tonight.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 The Chargers were brilliant for taking LT and Brees over Mike Vick. They weren't so smart in drafting Rivers and letting Brees go. Brees wasn't looking so hot before they drafted Rivers. And had Brees not gotten injured last year at the end, he'd still be their QB and Rivers would have been traded for a 1st, at least a 2nd round pick. Bad luck there, really.

He's more then holding his own. It was also made easier that Brees tore up his shoulder last year and the chargers probably felt that with the injury they couldn't justify signing him long term.
BuffOrange Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 As an aside, Brees just helped me advance in the fantasy playoffs tonight. 862586 Best 8th round pick ever.

Swift Sylvan Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 And....this was the guy who JP is arguably most comparable to

Bad luck there, really. 862591 That bad luck, of course, was mitigated, when they leveraged the Rivers trade into extra picks, getting Shawn Merriman and Nate Kaeding, among others. But I agree it was bad timing for the Chargers. On the other hand, they could have given Brees more time and been a little bit more patient with him. I wonder if JP will have a turning point like Brees did, and I wonder if we'll be more patient than the Chargers were. We definitely were patient, passing on Leinart and Cutler in last year's draft.

We definitely were patient, passing on Leinart and Cutler in last year's draft. Get JP weapons like LT, Gates, and a good O-line and you'll see what he can truly do then.
