Nostradamus
The key play in this game was the Evans bomb on 3rd and 2 in the second. Both corner and safety played the inside route and opened themselves up for the double move by Evans, which is why he caught it at the Meadowlands while the rest of the D was somewhere on the Jersey turnpike. Jauron must have caught a key on the Jets tendency to try and jump the route on third and short. While Mularkeys keys often put us in position to lose–like Losman's int on the goaline last year against Miami that triggered a dramatic collapse, Jauron gives us a decided edge against the competition. It's the difference between a guy who trys to prove he's smarter than everyone else (Mularkey) and one who really is smarter than everyone else but trys to take a backseat role. (Jauron). That play ultimately turned the game around and can be credited to Jauron. It also may have obscured what, up until that time, was a disappointing performance by Losman, who was getting sacked and making bad decisions in the first half. While Mangini has been mentioned recently as the vogue pick for coach if the year, but the Bills are now just one game behind New York, and have been competitive in all but two games this year. This was a 5-11 team that got gutted in the offseason, losing pro bowl, albeit over the hill players such as Vincent, Moulds, Adams, and Milloy. Further, this years free agent class has been largely unimpressive. The one big improvement has been that of our head coach. He's not going to get it, and more than likely will not even be mentioned with the exception of this post. But, how many coaches would you rather have right now than Jauron?? He has a quiet confidence to him, and doesn't have the arrogance of a Parcells or the smugness of a Belichick. He may not get it this year, but it wouldn't surprise me if Jauron does one day receive is due in the form of a coach of the year award.

ezbills
You're joking, right? Jauron has done a lot of positive things this year, but his game-day management with timeouts and challenges is awful. I think the Bills were the 1st team in NFL history to burn 2 timeouts on the same play last week when DJ called timeout, challenged a play, and then lost another timeout after losing the challenge. Overall, I am happy with the direction of the team including the coaching, but Coach of the Year consideration is kind of crazy!
C.Biscuit97
Jauron definitely deserves some votes. However as others have said, it has to be Payton and Man boobs Mangina as runner up (sp?). I think the Jets have even less talent than the Bills. The AFC East is gonna be an insanely tough division the next 5 years or so.

Miyagi-Do Karate
Peter King kicked around DJ's name as a top 5 guy for coach of the year. I would agree.
Simon
Considering that today was about the first time that I thought the Bills didn't look like one of the worst-coached teams in the entire NFL, I'm going to have to go with a "no" on this one. tennesseeboy
It will be Peyton or possibly Mangini. Jauron will just quietly build us a superbowl contender ( or winner!) and then go into the hall of fame. Let the others have the coach of the year.
