Buffalo Mike1 Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 No, I can't imagine that. 858517[/snapback] He was just the weapon we needed to stuff LT..............................
Sen. John Blutarsky Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Dat Ngyuen and Dexter Coakley aren't much heavier than Wire. The difference as I see it is space. Safeties have to tackle in space and cover in space. LB is much more close up work. Less ground to cover, less room to maneuver, hence larger men can play the position. My only concern with Wire playing LB is him getting consistently blown out of the hole. Our linebackers in general seem to run around blocks rather than take them on in the hole anyway. Pass coverage is definetly an upgrade - despite his problems at safety. Cover 2 linebackers need to get depth and he's definetly fast enough to do that. He's not fast enough to cover a deep half of the field but he's quick enough to do an intermediate third of it. Look for a platoon, Haggan in run downs Wire in pass downs.
