Will they be renamed?  The Anaheim Chargers of San Diego?

That appears to be the plan being pushed by the new fan group that's organized in Anaheim. Local company Disney is rumored to have offered substantial stadium funding in return for a Jimminy Cricket icon appearing on the shoulders of their player jerseys.

Or if they could massage pictures of d*cks into pictures of their stadium so that it looked as though it was part of the stadium.

The Chargers will stay in San Diego County. San Diego has the seventh largest population in the country. And they have been selling out their games. Bills fans get your in the stadium if you want to keep your football team in the future. Once the speculation starts that because of WNY demographics and inadequate fan support the team will leave, the shock lessens and the rich will have their way by moving.

Control what you can now. Get to the games and support the Bills!

Of course San Diego is selling out their games - look at their record! When a Buffalo Superbowl appearance was an annual event, the Bills were consistently selling out the second largest stadium in the NFL, in the second smallest market!

LA lost two teams - despite having the second largest population in the country. Cleveland and Baltimore also lost teams - despite rabid fan support.

If the Chargers get a sweet deal including a new stadium and $millions$ in cash - like Art Modell or Robert Irsay got - they'll be gone in 'a New York-second'. Conversely, Ralph could have gotten a sweet deal to move the Bills, probably on several occasions, but continues to keep the team here.

It takes more than a large market/population or sold-out stadium to ensure the team stays put; it has much more to do with the will - and the greed - of the owner(s), I think.

:D

(That said, I was always kinda 'miffed' that many of my friends absolutely counted on sitting in their nice warm house and seeing the game on TV while I plunked down my hard-earned cash for a pair of season tix and trudged out to The Ralph every week. It's because of guys like us that the home games are on TV in the first place! If folks want to see the game that badly, great! Get out there on Sunday!)

The Bills attendance this season is higher than the Chargers, by about 5000 fans a game.

It is no secret that both teams have a target on them and that L.A. is drooling to avoid expansion fees and instead swipe some other team.

I agree with your take on Ralph. It is after Ralph that I am very concerned about. If it could happen to Cleveland it could happen to Buffalo or San Diego. The Spanos family has a long term chain of command in place. The Spanos' seem to want to stay by either going south to Chula Vista or National City or waiting out the City of San Diego's money mess. The Bills have the unknown. It is very important for both fan bases to make clear that they want to keep their teams.

I think L.A. should go through the expansion route along with San Antonio.
