Sports Illustrated just broke down the Cover 2 defense in their most recent issue.

Brian Urlacher himself is quoted as saying that the Bears "play the Tampa Two no more than 35% to 40% of the time."

Maybe a 350 pound Gilbert Brown-type DT won't work in the Cover 2. But a John Henderson-type certainly can play on this team when over 60% of the time one of the defenses that runs it the most in the league isn't even running a Cover 2!

Bullshlt.

1) A guy with the intensity and talent of Phat Pat can play in any type of system.

2) A cover 2 is a secondary configuration and you can run your D-front any way you want when you're in it.

3) The Bills aren't even running pure cover 2 as they're mixing in a wide array of other looks with thier base D.

Right after the trade for Bledsoe, letting PhatPat walk was the biggest mistake Donahoe made in his tenure with the Bills. In addition to still being a great player he likely would have kept his buddy Sam Adams in line, and if both of those guys were here right now there's a distinct possibility we'd be playing for the AFC East title.
