CosmicBills Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?id=1865040 3798 He's hurt. Torn Calf muscle...
stuckincincy Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Add him to Donahoe's all whirlpool team. 3812
geggytah Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 He's hurt. Torn Calf muscle... 3800 yeah i know i read the article....but the article also said he was expected to return to practice this week. do you honestly think he would not be an improvement on what we already have (if healthy)? for the vet's minimum i would sure as hell give it a shot

njsue Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Save the money. Dont waste it on a washed up veteran who has lost his step. The bills need quickness on defense. Stick with what we have.

RunTheBall Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Every time some injured vet gets cut, someone cries out for him to show up on our roster. I don't have a problem trying someone out for the vet minimum (assuming he would take it), but who are you going to cut to give that roster spot to? We've got some good players who you're going to want to keep for the future and another hurt, aging vet who got CUT will take his spot. No thanks. RunTheBall
Lori Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 i'd have to argue that a healthy tony brackens is better than any one we currently have slated to play at the LDE position. 3932 But when was the last time Brackens was healthy? He hasn't played all 16 games since 2000. And it's not just the calf muscle - he's had microfracture surgery on his knee. Think: Terrell Davis, the aforementioned Marcus Jones, and a few other guys who could never make it all the way back from that.

Nanker Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 I'd bring him in just so Travis could reacquaint himself to him - with a Louisville slugger perhaps during whirlpool treatments.
Amstel Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Buyer beware. I don't think he'd add much and would definitely be a short term fix. If we had a SB caliber team and room maybe but at this point I don't think he'd be a difference maker
R. Rich Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Can he play right guard? 3886 ...and there you have it, folks.
