Jim Kleinpeter, a writer at the New Orleans Times Picayune, admitted Tuesday he sent in his ballot Sunday morning thinking the Sooners had lost to Texas Tech on Saturday night. He had OU ranked 15th last week but dropped the Sooners to 24th this week despite their 34-24 win over Texas Tech.

These idiots don't even know who won, let alone actually WATCH most of the games so they can make a reasonable determination.

 

Once again, polls are just popularity contests with reputation counting for more than performance.

Something is strange about that article. In addition to the OU screwup, it also claims that he was wrong about Auburn too???

 

"OU is 16th in the poll this week, five points behind Auburn, which Kleinpeter voted at No. 8 because he thought the Tigers had beaten Georgia when they lost 37-15."

 

I thought maybe the article was being sarcastic...I hadn't read about it anywhere else, but if that is the case...WOW. Screwing up TWO games in one week!!

 

I think I will start sending in my own Top 25 rankings to the AP board and tell them that I will be replacing this clown from here on in.
