Just Jack
First they bring in Vinny T, now replacing the turf, what will they do next to get back on the winners column?

udonkey
Wow...it took a whole summer to do that at my old high school field. They're doing it in 2 weeks at Gillette? Impressive
ans4e64
I actually dont think this is a good idea for them. One of the biggest problems that opponents with more talent and speed was playing NE in NE. The mud and grass leveled the playing field a lot for the Patriots, particularly against the Colts. The Pats are faster now with Maroney and Watson though, interesting.

Actually, here's an interesting stat that refutes that: Brady (QB rating): 2006 : Turf 99.9, Grass 72.4 2005 : Turf 108.6, Grass 88.7 2004 : Turf : 109.4, Grass 88.4 Manning (QB rating): 2006 : Turf : 101.7, Grass 113.8 2005 : Turf 98.2, Grass 115 2004 : Turf 126.7, Grass 112.

generaLee83
Patriots get FieldTurf At least the surface games are played on will be decent. 837352[/snapback] The surface of the Pats field was ALWAYS an advantage to them. I think it will be hilarious if they lose more games at home now. Their reign may be over

West Hollywood Donahoe
It's not for inferior football fans like you to question our superior management and fan base. While I'm not at liberty to explain exactly why a change of surface was necessary at this time, make no mistake that we have had this planned for strategic reasons and it will eventually play out to be as brilliant as our coaches, players and fans have already proven to be. There is simply no decision by our team that invites critique by the likes of you.

Although its interesting how Manning is good no matter where he plays and Brady is only average in certain venues. Maybe the Bills should get some grass. Mikie2times
Thank God. I did read before the Colts game they intentionally waited until after they played Indianapolis to install the turf. Polian was complaining about it.

I believe it that they were waiting until after the Indy game. Fat lot of good THAT did them. I wonder if watering FieldTurf before games in freezing temps will work as well as it did with grass?
