BoondckCL Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I am reminded of the last draft, where many wanted Winston Justice LT and Max Jean-Gilles LG, who are now both ready to step in as the Eagles' left side. Let's not make the same mistake this year. 837324 I would hate to do that again.
ddaryl Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 The Bills will be draftng earlier then 11 or 12. I think we'll be in the top 8. We're that bad. In fact I'm really thinking top 5.
Ozymandius Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Buffalo Bills Brown, Levi, OT Penn St. The Bills' offensive line is pretty bad, and so it's the biggest priority to address. ASTRO_COMMENT: NO. Levi Brown won't be there at 7, much less 12, despite some Penn State wallers saying how bad he is. 837144 Disagree here. I think Brown will be viewed as a RT prospect so he'll go mid to late first round.
stuckincincy Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Once bitten, twice shy?Like any of these better?... 837189 Thanks for collecting these first looks and comments about the upcoming players. Always appreciated!
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 they're all wrong. Hell will freeze over before this team drafts OL in the 1st.
R. Rich Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 If we end up with pick 12 then guys among my short list are: Sam Baker LT USC: Move Peters back to RT and take Baker to have bookend tackles for the next 5 seasons. Dwayne Jarrett WR USC: I like WR Calvin Johnson better but doubt he'd fall out of the top 5 so take the 2nd best WR in the class. At 6'5' 215# he has the size to be the perfect compliment to Lee Evans. Paul Posluszny LB Penn State: It might not be a popular decision but we might want to consider Takeo for the sake of retaining London Fletcher leaving a hole at OLB. Posluszny is the best LB in the draft and isn't a reach at pick 12. Patrick Willis LB Missisppi: Some feel he's best suited for MLB so if we can't retain Fletcher maybe instead we keep Spikes and take Willis here. Marcus McCauley CB Fresno St: With questions if Nate wil be franchised again we might look for his replacement in the draft. McCauley matches Nate's size and arguably the top CB in the draft. 837209 Some decent choices, but I'd much rather see us end up w/ Buster Davis as a LB prospect than either Posluszny or Willis. Then again, I'd rather see us end up w/ Baker than any of those LBs. If Baker is there, I'd be happy to see the Bills end up w/ him.
king bucko Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Maybe it's just me, but I think if Calvin Johnson's gone, we shouldn't worry about WR in the first round. Sam Baker, Joe Thomas, etc. for OL I don't know who for DL. Buster Davis for LB I still think we should look at Gaines Adams.

Better start rooting for the Bills to lose out if you want him or especially CJ ( a top 2 pick).
The Senator Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Posluszny! Na Zdrowie! (Seriously, it's way too early for draft talk. Who knows, we may 'win out' and finish 10-6. And who ever thought Leinart would be there at the 10th pick this year? Just too early for all this, I think.)

obie_wan Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 they're all wrong. Hell will freeze over before this team drafts OL in the 1st. 837561 no - they'll draft an overweight, under motivated slob to play RT in the top 5.
Bill from NYC Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 no - they'll draft an overweight, under motivated slob to play RT in the top 5. 838219 Odds and history tell us that we will grab a 1st round corner and let him walk in 5 years, no matter how good he is. If this does happen, the college kids on this board probably won't live to see a Bills playoff game.

I remember some of the superbowl-era playoff games on TV, as well as the Tennessee game

Chilly Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 etc. Thanks, TigerJ, for all the new draft sites! I don't know anything about Okam the DT. I appreciate your work. 838320 Okam's a big boy who is a run stuffer. Doesn't give you a ton from the pass rushing point of view, but he can overpower the little guys and cause some pressure. His greatest strength is his strength and large body.
TNBillFan Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 How about Aaron Sears from Tennessee? 837346 Why would the Bills have an interest in a 22 year old, 6'4" Left OT who looks trim at 320 lbs. and who has started since his true freshman year? He's played every position on the line except center and was First Team All-SEC (both coaches and writers) as a junior. He's been one of the best O linemen at UT in years, he comes from an Alabama football family ---his brother starts at Auburn---and he is a great student and the epitome of a high character player, never being in trouble of any kind during his years in Knoxville. Nah, not the kind of OL the Bills would like---no big press stories about moving mountains like Big Mike and he hasn't played against good competition in the SEC.
Ray Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 You know it's bad when it's week 9 and we are talking about the draft!
TNBillFan Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 You know it's bad when it's week 9 and we are talking about the draft! 838711 Absolutely true! We could talk about the playoffs, but I don't care about the teams that will be playing.

And will a round 1 CB followed by a round 2 OG and a round 3 OT set us back as well?
