Bungee Jumper Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 But they fear the possibility of a Hillary election. They know Giuliani is the best NATIONAL candidate. Combining that fear with the the national security question (Ask yourself, who would you want leading you through a time of crisis?) and Rudy is far ahead of anyone save McCain. So, the primary voters get a McCain/Rudy choice. I don't think they like McCain down south. Pat Robertson despises him, yet respects Giuliani immensely. Even called him a "friend." Falwell has not come out one way or another yet. We're going to find out, but a strong Hillary is the best thing for a Rudy candidacy. 836687 They fear God more. And if God tells them "Don't vote for Rudi."...they won't.

EC-Bills Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 When? 836721 When running for president? Edit: When I say Clinton, I mean Bill Clinton
bills_fan Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 They fear God more. And if God tells them "Don't vote for Rudi."...they won't. Yes, and God, to them, sends his message thru folks like Falwell and Robertson. Hence, the support by Robertson is crucial.
Chilly Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I could definitely see myself voting for Rudy, and it'd be a strong possibility. Of course, it'd depend on what he articulated as it gets closer to the election and the other people, but I'd be more willing to support him over McCain in the Republican primaries.

molson_golden2002 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 linky 836009 That's why I hate the two party system. I backed John McCain in 2000 but never got a chance to vote for him. The majority of Americans I'm sure would have elected him instead we got a minority President who is a complete dolt. I think Rudy would make a great President but he will never win the nomination. No wonder so many moderates went over to Dems in this election. They are sick of not being represented
KD in CA Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I don't recall his really doing much to improve the ferry system here, but if you look at his maintaining the status quo with the Staten Island Ferry still running for free in addition to the others, I suppose you're right. Good call. We should stop wasting our tax dollars on ferrys. No possessive apostrophe in that, just so you know, though. 836481 At least under Rudy SI Ferry pilots weren't drunk and ramming said ferries into the docks and killing people!
