justnzane Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) Ok i thought of a new concept i guess for this board (old timers may be able to prove me wrong here). This is based on the phenomenon of debating music here as of late. But here it goes 1. You can post any song that is considered an all time classic, timeless song. For all considerations the song must have come out before 2000 2. Posters have a right to argue the point of the song being a classic on the merit of the quality of the song, popularity of the song, and general opinion of the song according to the posters of TSW 3. You may only post one song every four hours . 4. I may amend the rules at any time 5. After the thread has been inactive for a week i will compose a song list for the board in a thread that will be called "TSW all-time classic songs" With that in mind, I choose Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" as the first song Edited November 14, 2006 by jzmack

apuszczalowski Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Gordon Lightfoots a terrorist? Are you thinking of Cat Stevens? Although I will agree with one of them and say for my choice Stairway to Heaven - Led Zepplin It is rumored to be the song they are refering to in the Tenacious D song "Tribute" (also a good one) as the greatest song in the world

apuszczalowski Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Little Bones..Tragically Hip 831638 Not bad, but if you go Tragically Hip I place it behind Cordillia (sp?), locked in the trunk of a car, Gift Shop, Scared, and Wheat Kings
ieatcrayonz Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Judy Garland? 831634 Ok so she's not that good looking but it was a good song. Her daughter Barbara Steisand is also not pretty but can also sing.

ieatcrayonz Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Ok maybe this is my anti- Barbara Streisand views here, i think she is garbage... ugly and sounds like yoko ono 831649 We can argue about whether or not she can sing I guess, but my point was meant to be about her mom, Judy Garland. Judy Garland could definitely sing even if she was ugly. Streisand is definitely ugly. A lot of people like how she sings and some don't. Let's try to keep to the rules here. I was talking about Judy Garland from my original list.
