ACor58 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I will admit that Spikes is not the same player that he was two years ago, there is still a chance that he can return to form, just as Peterson has. Julian Peterson tore his achilles with the Niners back in 04 and while he wasn't exactly back to form in 05, he is having a monster year with the Seahwaks this year. (Through 8 games he has 54 tackles and 8 sacks).
Rico Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Agreed... think he'll have to take a pay cut this off-season though, don't know if he will.
bills_fan Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Agreed... think he'll have to take a pay cut this off-season though, don't know if he will. Why, we are 30+ million under the cap for next year.

IDBillzFan Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 We have no time to give up on Spikes because we're too busy giving up on Losman.
Rico Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Why, we are 30+ million under the cap for next year. 828570 Because his performance on the field this year doesn't come close to matching his pay (see Eric Moulds 2005).
MadBuffaloDisease Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 As a leader on defense, Spikes should be able to play better and make those around him play better. There's no excuse that he's injured or his DL is a sieve against the run. I can't say whether he's done. But he's not where he needs to be right now. But if they bench him for Ellison, they might as well cut him. So basically the Bills are stuck.
Rubes Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 We have no time to give up on Spikes because we're too busy giving up on Losman. 828574 Multitasking, man. Multitasking.
