VABills
It's been bad here lately. In Woodbridge during the last election the Repubs had a big (20 foot x 30 foot) sign along with repub HQ address info, on a major intersection. Someone burned it to the ground about 2 weeks before the election. In the 2004 elction we had the guy checking us in get arrested because he purposely was going too slow, and taking 10 minutes or so per person. When he was told he needed to check Id's quicker, he started yelling and saying what difference did it make, Everyone here was voting for that Gosh Damn Bush anyways and he was just going to make it hard. Needless to say a police officer showed up and escorted him out.
SDS
of course, how hard is it to fake this stuff? Would you like me to photoshop a voter suppression flyer in 10 minutes? I could fax it to the Baltimore Sun 2 minutes after that. Then I could call a friends voice mail and do the same there.... Separating what is real and what is not is nearly impossible. From the article: “There are now credible reports from multiple jurisdictions around the Commonwealth that establish a pattern of dirty tricks being employed to confuse and frustrate Virginia's voters from exercising their right to vote tomorrow. In addition to reports that have been received by the Democratic Party of Virginia, these local election officials have been receiving reports from concerned voters,” said Jack Young, co-chair of Promote the Vote. Its important that it establishes a pattern, which shows that its widespread enough to not be an isolated incident.
VABills
Blogs from fredericksburg, VA area election workers say that voting is already double what they expected. Since that area tends to be heavy republican, it could be interesting. Of course having the gay marriage amendment probably brought out more then normal in the area. One area had about 1/3 of the voters leave because it was backed up so bad. I wonder if my friend from the Stafford polls last year should up there. It doesn't seem too hard to me.

It doesn't seem too hard to me. 828717 Its not too hard to find out how widespread it is. For example, for the phone messages, pull the phone records and check it, something I'm sure the FBI is doing. If there is a clear pattern in that case it wouldn't be hard to find out. It's more important that it be based in fact and not anecdote. 828727 Very true, but anecdotal doesn't mean its not factual, just that its not guaranteed evidence of a larger initiative.
