ieatcrayonz Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 VH1's Greatest Songs of the 80s 2. Def Leppard / "Pour Some Sugar On Me" Real name of song was "Awesome Sugar Honey" 8. Madonna / "Like a Virgin" This song was by Debbie Gibson, not Madonna 9. Run-D.M.C. / "Walk This Way" This song was by Aerosmith and not even in the 80s. It was from the 70s. 18. Dexy's Midnight Runners / "Come On Eileen" This song is from a porno and they spelled it wrong 21. Michael Jackson / "Beat It" Another porno song but I'm not sure if it was the same flick. 25. Go-Go's / "Our Lips Are Sealed" I think they mean "I love Cecile" A little lesbo-ish but a good beat. 32. Night Ranger / "Sister Christian" They say the phrase "Sister Christian" a lot in the song but I believe the title was "You're Motorhead". 824651 I can't argue with any of this because music is all about personal preferences. Their list was full of mistakes which I have corrected in your quote. If you're going to make a list, at least get the facts straight.
GoodBye Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Oh yeah, I forgot....after all, you posted this a while back! 827163 That's right baby, I know a little about football! Especially Bills football.
buckeyemike Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 And what about Motley Crue and Girls! Girls! Girls!. Timeless classic. 825816 Appropriate for dev/null. A song that's been overplayed at every strip club in America and on the Canadian Ballet for the last 15 years.
Pete Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Off the top of my head- Seek and Destroy- Metallica Institutionalized-Suicidal Tendencies Lonely in the Night-Billy Squier Radio Free Europe-REM New Years Day-U2 Mountain Song-Janes Addiction Start Me Up-Rolling Stones South of Heaven-Slayer Waterfall-The Stone Roses Alex Chilton-Replacements Straight Our of Compton-NWA Rock the Casbah-The Clash My Drug Buddy-Lemonheads UMass-The Pixies 100%-Sonic Youth 80s had great music-it was back when underground was really "underground"-not mainstream. Pete Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 How the hell did they miss She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult?!? 826197 Forgot about that one- great song, great band. Love Removal Machine was another great album. I played Love to death in college- until I heard Nothings Shocking by Janes Addiction. Good times!

nemhoff Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 U2 needs to be way up that list and the hair metal way down.
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I can't argue with any of this because music is all about personal preferences. Their list was full of mistakes which I have corrected in your quote. If you're going to make a list, at least get the facts straight. 827168 In your corrections you forgot: 14. The Bangles / "Walk Like an Egyptian"... Is really: ieatcrayonz / "Walk With an Erection"
justnzane Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I have to ask how no Billy Idol? no Mony Mony, grant you remake there, or white wedding, rebell yell, dancing w/ myself also, out of the drag queen of pop's collection, i am surprised that thriller, didn't make it over beat it. Also, Sunday Bloody Sunday? Judas Priest Breaking The Law police every breath you take styx- mr. roboto tom petty- free fallin all of these are worthy of that list more than some of the garbage on there
/dev/null Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Appropriate for dev/null. A song that's been overplayed at every strip club in America and on the Canadian Ballet for the last 15 years. 827556 i was a fan of that song in elementary school. Long before i ever went to a strip club (and never been to a "Canadian Ballet")
/dev/null Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Enter Sandman 831472 Actually a 90s song But I get your point. They should have at least given some love to "One" (the only Metallica song of the 80s with a video) No Metallica No Peace!!!
I 90 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Alex Chilton-Replacements 80s had great music-it was back when underground was really "underground"-not mainstream. 828998 Best song ever ... but was there a video ? And it was the 80's underground that MADE video television. VH 1 should pay some respect. There is enough lame band footage on that list to make such a show unwatchable even if you like the music. .
justnzane Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Actually a 90s song But I get your point. They should have at least given some love to "One" (the only Metallica song of the 80s with a video) No Metallica No Peace!!! 831474 yeah i realized that after i posted that the was early 90's, and i'll edit that out now that i am sober enough to type something readable
MarkyMannn Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 VH1's Greatest Songs of the 80s 1. Bon Jovi / "Livin' on a Prayer" 824651 Got no problem with that one. Saw their concert last year. OUTSTANDING!!! If you live in Buffalo and want to see a local band cover BJ better than BJ themselves, these guys are them HNR
