/dev/null
what a crappy list how about some love for Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Ozzy? Unlike most of the songs on that list, people still listen to their 80s songs
HopsGuy
Any list of top 80s songs that omits Spandau Ballet, the Pet Shop Boys, or the Thompson Twins can't be dignified with comment. I'm sorry.
bbb
This much is true. How about the biggest rock star of the 80s - Bruce Springsteen.
MadBuffaloDisease
"Livin' on a prayer?" "LIVIN' ON A FUGGIN' PRAYER?!" That's not even the best Bon Jovi song of the 80's ("Wanted Dead or Alive was"), much less of the ENTIRE 80's. Morons.

ExiledInIllinois
What don't people understand? Yes it is a crappy list... Again, notic it is VH-1? That is the format so to speak... They aren't saying just best songs of the 1980's... They are saying VH-1's best songs of the 1980's... Am I the only one who remembers what VH-1 was all about back in the day? Seems like the list fits the "soft" format that VH-1 went on the air (okay cable) first enbodied... But continue on... Rage all you want on how Ozzy and Metallica belong on this list... Wow... EII a voice of reason?
/dev/null
Rage all you want on how Ozzy and Metallica belong on this list... 825781 They got Pat freakin Benetar on that list. How can you put any of her crap ahead of Bark at the Moon, Crazy Train, Sanitarium (or anything off the Master of Puppets album for that matter) Those are all time great songs. And what about Motely Crue and Girls! Girls! Girls!. Timeless classic Wow... EII a voice of reason? 825781 I wouldn't say that

That is the most important factor to the list. Most here probably don't remember VH-1 coming onto the scene... There was a big difference between its programming and MTV's... Like taking a easy listening station and putting different genre on that list.

I caught a Behind the Music of Pantera a while back. And I doubt anyone has ever thought of Pantera as easy listening

I tend to think that this list is more to its pure form whenit entered the market... Then again, people were voting... You would think that a lot of their audience changed when they changed... You would think? Maybe the old-schoolers are still watching/voting? I didn't vote...

rockpile
Gotta remember Rock that this is a VH-1 list and true to VH-1 it seems accurate... Remember it was MTV that was "cutting edge" and VH-1 came in and offered the poppy/softer hits/side of the story... IMO 824810 Did they cancel MTV? I can't find any music channel called MTV now. Actually, when it started I liked VH1 - kind of like MTV unplugged.
