Mikie2times Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 So last weekend I hit on a 6 team parlay betting football, total bet was $200 for over $11,000. I never do big parlays, but I loved the card last weekend and things actually worked out. Needless to say I was thrilled. I cash out the majority, and left $1000 in the sportsbook. This weekend I say what the hell, and make another ridiculously unlikely 7 team parlay bet. This time $100 for $12,000. With the early NCAA games finished I've won 6 of the 7, with only BUFFALO left tomorrow. I'm not counting on anything, but holy hell will I be one happy SOB if the Bills win by 4 or more tomorrow.
cantankerous Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 That sucks Buffalo is going to screw you outta that loot. You are one lucky bastard though.

It would be foolish not to in my opinion.

Zona Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 not to rain on your parade, but the packers are known as the Chocolate packers in my house for a reason. They cost me my biggest payday ever. I had a $200- 6 teamer and a $200 5 teamer and a $100 5 team rotation that would have paid well over $18,000 total. All teams were in and all I needed was the Packers at home on a Monday night. They didn't cover thanks to two turnovers (one inside the opponents 20, and the other inside thier own 20). I lost the bet by 1.5 points. Good luck tommorow! and congrats on your your big win last week. BTW- I hope you had two $100 tickets and cashed them seperately so as to avoid the Tax man...

Dwight Drane Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 You've been watching too much Howie Mandle. Anyone who is about to hit a bet at 120-1 and has the chance to hedge it at 60-1....and doesn't do it.......MORON. Look at it this way. You bought 100 shares of a stock at $1. It is now at $60. Unless you bomb the Adam's Mark, you have no inside information. The stock isn't going to slide down to $40 where you can sell it and lament over the lost profit....it will go to zero if you are wrong. If you are serious....take the $6000. If you want to play, throw a few 3 teamers keying the Bills in the mix to try and get the whole thing. If your net worth is over $2 million, then forgive me for being a jagoff.

If I decided to hedge last weekend I would be sitting on half of what I won. Not like I don't get the play it safe logic, but it's gambling. I expected to lose this bet to begin with. Just like I expected to lose the one last week. Regardless of what happens I won't look back on my decision and second guess it.
