SACKMARINO Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 maybe bring him back? Vikings | Baker released Sat, 4 Nov 2006 08:34:35 -0800 Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings will release FS Rashad Baker Saturday, Nov. 4.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 He did play good at times, but he won't be nothing more than Ko's backup.
UConn James Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Don't we already have a surfeit of safeties? They're trying to fit Bowen into the picture now that he's recovered. Same as when he was first cut, there just doesn't seem to be a spot to put him. I liked his hard-hitting style, but teams don't generally do this kind of re-signing, barring holes created by injuries.

Leonhard back when Vincent went down, i know Baker was ahead of Leonhard on the depth chart...but leonhard can (attempt to) return punts, and he's already here so i doubt it.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Bring him back? What for? 824576 To replace Coy Wire.
BoondckCL Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Baker's special teams ability was among one of the best on last years roster. I woudn't mind trimming some of the fat off of this team and re-signing a guy like Baker. After all he did come up big for the Bills when they played the Vikings.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 To replace Coy Wire. 824613 Not necessarily. Coy Wire might not be good a strong safety anymore, but he's really good on special teams which is the only thing the Bills are good at.

CoachChuckDickerson Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I....HAVE....HEARD....OF......HIM
LabattBlue Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 ...but he's really good on special teams 824622 urban legend!
DeLuca1967 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 This team has enough losers on it. Can he play QB? Can he play O-line? I'm sick of this franchise loading up with other teams garbage. And you should be to

Dibs Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 The Vikings have the 26th ranked D against the Pass......we are 14th. Why would we want to sign a guy who is not good enough to stay with them? It seems to me that if you play for the Bills, Bills fans want to run you out of town.....if you used to play for the Bills, Bills fans think you must be good.

CFLstyle Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Good special teams player but we have enough special teams gems on our team, offense is the most of our concerns right now. Hell if he's available though and willing to sign for cheap, why not pick him up?

Wire is a much better special teams player Baker. I can't understand the love afair with Baker. He just got cut in mid-season. Maybe that substantiates our staffs decision in the first place?
jarthur31 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 To replace Coy Wire. 824613 That is reason enough. Too bad Rashad can't play on the line.
