Cornerville Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 "But....but....11 Cups! And the Leafs didn't lose to the Sabres ONE TIME from 1920 to 1969!" 824048 :ljava script:emoticon('') smilieol:
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 You might have a point if the Sabres had a cup since 1970.... By the way, I do think you were scammed by Brett Hull...I'm somewhat sympathetic....I stress somewhat. 824023 You gotta admit that through the years, winning a SC has turned into a juggernaut... Back in the original six days... What did it take to win the cup in a total sweep, 8 games (Detroit)? Two series? Even the Sabres in the 1975 SC finals had an easier time than teams now have... You have a best of 7 series at every level now. Sure talent is more watered down and spread out amongst the teams... Yet, you see a long-shot underdog almost every year take a superior team to task. I would kill for about 1/2 the teams that exist now... A retracted league that revolves around the hardcore hockey centers/culture...
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Well Habs fans are just unreasonable. 824215 I don't know about that... Lori, seems to be very reasonable... Actually, the most at this site...
TheMadCap Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Question for the Leafs fans? Why are they called the Leafs instead of Leaves?
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Question for the Leafs fans? Why are they called the Leafs instead of Leaves? 824620 Because... I think... Say think... Conn Smythe had a terrible lisp... And that is the way it sounded... Not sure if it was Smythe??... Really, was a lisp thing...
