IBTG81 Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I loved the first 2 installments. Let me say, the third one SUCKED! I could see the ending a mile away, and the movie just ran on wayyyyyyyyyyyy too long. This movie in my opinion just ruined the Saw franchise for me. However, there was a nice scene where this smoking hot chick was chained up naked for like 5 minutes.
sweetbaboo Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I liked it. By now, I think everyone is desensitized to any "surprises" a movie can bring. However, the ideas in the movie are still original, unlike other Hollywood movies these days. I'd say this is a pretty strong trilogy. The way they set it up for a 4th is pretty gay though.
ajzepp Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I was afraid it might suck...I loved the first one, really liked the second one, but the set-up for the third one seemed as though it was really reaching. I'm definitely going to see it, but I was hoping they'd find a way to recreate the magic of the first film.

What I liked about the first two Saw's were the twists and surprises. This one had zero.

Sometimes it seems that the horror genre in particular is way too hasty in getting sequels out there.

I really liked the first one, and it is the same director, so hopefully that will be a good one.

I thought that one was surprisingly good, too. Probably a lot of guys can totally relate to the film, since for most of us the idea of a dirt cheap hostel with hot, loose women running around would be pretty damn appealing

It seems Hostel has set up a wave of copy cat movies. There is one from China called "Live Feed". And at Saw 3 we saw a preview for a new movie that looked just Hostel in Brazil. Did any one here see "The Descent"? That was the best horror movie in 10 years. WAAAAAY more scary than the Saw films.
Ramius Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 i saw the first 2 installments of saw. good premise but i think they could have been done a lot better. I'd love to see them turn over the rights to Stephen King and let him have a go with the series. He could turn it into a fantastic story.

I can't wait to see it.

Perfect ending for a trilogy and 3 movies that were all very good. Its just too bad they are making a Saw 4 with a different team.

Glad to hear it's got some nice effects! I'm even more excited to see it now!
apuszczalowski Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I saw the first Saw, and I wasn't impressed, I felt the entire movie was nothing more then, lets see what sick was we can gross the audience out with. The acting was horrible, the actor that played the doctor that was trapped and cut his leg off, has to be the worst actor ever. I had no interest in seeing Saw II after that one. I also saw Hostel and found it to be horrible (except for the hot girls) I definitly won't see Hostel 2 I don't know, maybe its just me and my taste in Movies, I enjoyed both of Rob Zombies horro movies (House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects) and not many people liked those. I did go see The Departed yesterday, it was a pretty good movie, but was really long
RayFinkle Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Were there any New Kids on the Block in this one?
