The worst part, the league believes him. For a quick overview: Dr. Pellman is on the Jets medical staff. his strange research practices have led his group to publish papers stating that concussions DO NOT have any deleterious after effects, and it is ok for players to return to the field ASAP after suffering one. He's also stated that there is no worsening of the injuries or any chronic cumulative effects of ultiple concussions. This flies in the face of the beliefs of thousands of other doctors and researchers. For some reason, the NFL insists on following Pellman's work and ignoring other reports.
